MERRICK MAYHEM 8U Holds Off South Shore Sharks As 4-Run Deficit Is Nearly Erased


MERRICK MAYHEM 8U got out to a four-run lead in the fifth inning and held on for a 4-3 victory over South Shore Sharks on Saturday. South Shore Sharks scored three runs in the failed comeback on a double by Montanez, a double by Walker, and a walk by Learn.


South Shore Sharks scored three runs in the fifth inning, but MERRICK MAYHEM 8U still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for South Shore Sharks came thanks to doubles by Montanez and Walker and a walk by Learn.


ZACH B led things off on the pitcher's mound for MERRICK MAYHEM 8U. He allowed one hit and zero runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six.


Montanez was on the mound for South Shore Sharks. He lasted three innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out nine. Bischoff and Mazzola entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one and one-third innings respectively.


MERRICK MAYHEM 8U totaled seven hits in the game. Gavin J and ZACH all had multiple hits for MERRICK MAYHEM 8U. ZACH and Gavin each managed two hits to lead MERRICK MAYHEM 8U. MERRICK MAYHEM 8U tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. ZACH led the way with four. MERRICK MAYHEM 8U didn't commit a single error in the field. CHRISTIAN B had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
